Non-Pregnancy Ultrasound Scan in Greenwich?

Need a private ultrasound scan in Greenwich that isn't pregnancy-related? Radpid Diagnostics offers same-day appointments, self-referral, and consultant-led reports for a wide range of clinical indications.

When most people think of an ultrasound scan, pregnancy comes to mind. But ultrasound is one of the most versatile diagnostic tools in modern medicine — and at Radpid Diagnostics in Greenwich, the majority of our scans are for non-pregnancy clinical concerns. Whether you have noticed a lump, are experiencing abdominal discomfort, or want rapid reassurance about a symptom that has been worrying you, we offer fast, expert ultrasound imaging with same-day results.

Private Ultrasound in Greenwich — Not Just for Pregnancy

Our Greenwich clinic provides private ultrasound appointments for busy professionals and individuals who need prompt answers — without waiting weeks for an NHS referral.

We provide a comprehensive range of non-pregnancy ultrasound examinations at our Greenwich SE10 clinic. Upper and general abdominal ultrasound assesses the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, and kidneys — commonly requested for abdominal pain, bloating, or abnormal blood results. Urinary tract, renal, and prostate ultrasound evaluates the kidneys, bladder, and prostate gland for stones, obstruction, or structural abnormality.

What Non-Pregnancy Ultrasound Scans Do We Offer?

Testicular and scrotal ultrasound is the gold-standard investigation for testicular pain, swelling, or a palpable lump — and is available with rapid turnaround. Soft-tissue ultrasound for lumps and bumps characterises subcutaneous masses, lipomas, cysts, and other superficial lesions to guide clinical management.

DVT (deep vein thrombosis) assessment uses Doppler ultrasound to evaluate the deep veins of the leg for clot — an important investigation for calf pain, swelling, or redness. Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening measures the diameter of the aorta and is recommended for men over 65 or anyone with risk factors for aortic disease.

Pelvic and ovarian ultrasound — including transvaginal scanning where clinically indicated — assesses the uterus, ovaries, and pelvic structures for cysts, fibroids, or other pathology. MSK (musculoskeletal) joint ultrasound evaluates tendons, ligaments, bursae, and joint spaces for inflammation, tears, or effusion. Hernia assessment uses ultrasound to confirm the presence, size, and reducibility of inguinal, femoral, or umbilical hernias.

Who Is This Service For?

Our ultrasound service is designed for anyone who needs fast, reliable imaging without the delays of the NHS pathway. This includes busy professionals who cannot wait weeks for a routine referral, individuals who have noticed a new symptom and want prompt reassurance, patients whose GP has recommended an ultrasound but faces a long waiting list, and anyone seeking a second opinion or a baseline scan for a known condition.

No specialist knowledge is required to book — if you are unsure which scan is appropriate for your symptoms, our team will guide you to the right examination before you confirm your appointment.

Self-referral is accepted for all non-pregnancy ultrasound examinations — no GP letter or consultant referral is required. Simply select your scan type, choose a date and time that suits you, and complete the booking online.

Booking Your Scan — What You Need to Provide

When booking, you will be asked to provide a Reason for Scan / Clinical History. Please provide details describing the injury or health issue, including when symptoms started, and the specific problem you want this imaging scan to address. This information is reviewed by our clinician where appropriate to ensure you receive the right scan for your needs.

GP and consultant referrals are equally welcomed. Reports are returned to the referring clinician on the same day.

All ultrasound reports at Radpid Diagnostics are issued on the same day as your scan. Your images are reviewed and reported by an experienced sonographer under the clinical leadership of a consultant radiologist, with a formal written report delivered to you and your referring clinician electronically — typically within a few hours of your appointment.

Same-Day Consultant-Led Reports

If a finding requires urgent clinical attention, you will be contacted directly and advised on the appropriate next steps. We do not leave patients waiting days for results that matter.

Our ultrasound clinic is based in Greenwich SE10, with excellent transport links via the Elizabeth line, DLR, and National Rail. The clinic is equipped with high-resolution diagnostic ultrasound equipment operated by HCPC-registered sonographers with specialist experience across the full range of non-pregnancy indications. All examinations are performed in a private, clinical environment.
