Secure-Environment Medical Imaging Services

IRCs & HMP Facilities

Radpid Diagnostics provides compliant mobile and on-site X-ray and ultrasound services for Immigration Removal Centres and His Majesty's Prisons — delivering chest X-ray, musculoskeletal X-ray, and abdominal ultrasound with same-day consultant radiologist reporting, under IR(ME)R 2017 regulations.

On-site Diagnostic Imaging for Secure Facilities

Arranging diagnostic imaging for detainees and prisoners presents significant logistical and security challenges. Escorted hospital transfers are resource-intensive, disruptive to facility operations, and can introduce delays in clinical management. Radpid Diagnostics eliminates these challenges by deploying portable digital X-ray and ultrasound equipment directly within the facility.

Our HCPC-registered radiographers and sonographers are experienced in operating within controlled-access environments. We follow all facility security protocols, pre-clearance requirements, and escort procedures as directed by the establishment. Digital images are transmitted electronically for same-day consultant radiologist-led reporting, with written reports communicated directly to the facility healthcare team.

All examinations are performed under IR(ME)R 2017 regulations, in compliance with Home Office healthcare protocols and HMPPS requirements. Every referral is reviewed and authorised by a Radpid Diagnostics clinician to confirm clinical justification before any examination proceeds.

What We Provide

A fully mobile, self-contained imaging service designed for deployment within secure environments.

Chest X-ray

Portable digital chest radiography for infectious-disease screening, tuberculosis detection, and respiratory assessment. Rapid turnaround to support clinical decision-making within the facility.

Musculoskeletal X-ray

On-site imaging of fractures, dislocations, and soft-tissue injuries. Eliminates the need for external hospital transfer for straightforward MSK presentations.

Abdominal ultrasound

Diagnostic abdominal ultrasound performed on-site by a HCPC-registered sonographer. Supports assessment of abdominal pain, organomegaly, and other acute presentations.

Same-day reporting

Digital images are transmitted electronically immediately after acquisition. Written reports are issued by a consultant radiologist on the same day, supporting prompt clinical management.

Secure-access workflows

Our clinicians are experienced in operating within controlled-access environments. We follow facility security protocols, pre-clearance requirements, and escort procedures as directed by the establishment.

How It Works

A structured, security-conscious process from initial enquiry to clinical handover.

1

Pre-visit coordination

We liaise with the facility healthcare lead and security team to complete all required pre-clearance, vetting, and access documentation before the visit. IR(ME)R 2017 referral pathways are confirmed in advance.

2

Secure on-site deployment

Our HCPC-registered clinician attends with portable digital equipment, following all facility security protocols and escort procedures. Equipment is compact and designed for deployment in clinical rooms within secure environments.

3

Examination and imaging

Chest X-ray, musculoskeletal X-ray, or abdominal ultrasound is performed as clinically indicated, following authorisation by the referring clinician in accordance with IR(ME)R 2017.

4

Reporting and clinical handover

Digital images are transmitted electronically to our consultant radiologist. Written reports are issued on the same day and communicated directly to the facility healthcare team.
